Pete & Cory
Nerida, a young woman breastfeeding outside the café, has just left. Cory turns to his father. “Is that legal?”
“Is what legal?” Pete asks his fifteen-year-old son.
“Having your boob out and feed a baby, like that woman was doing?”
“You mean in public?”
“Yeah.”
“I suppose it must be. See that sign on the window? Breastfeeding welcome here. I don’t think the council would allow them to put that there if it’s illegal.”
“I guess not. She had nice boobs, though.”
“You shouldn’t have been looking.”
“You were.” For this Cory gets a thump on his arm. “Ouch! You were!”
“I suppose I was. I guess there’s no harm in looking if they put it out there for all to see, even if it’s not decent.”
Cory points at a woman wearing a loose top, leaning forward to rummage through her bag. “There’s another one showing everything.”
“Get used to it, Mate.”
The waitress comes out to clear there empty cups and plates. “Do you want anything else?” she asks.
“Yeah, another coffee please … and …” Pete looks at Cory.
