JWhitten, I owe you more than the short quip I posted yesterday.

Kay Bolden does not write as if she has an ‘agenda’, other than the agenda any writer has to express an idea or a thought, or to put across an argument in support of a point of view. You can call this an agenda if you like, but not in a pejorative way. Your response to Kay’s piece is also driven by an agenda and no adjectives are needed.

If you don’t agree with what someone writes, it doesn’t add anything to a debate to attack the person, or to attack their ideas with invective. I have no problem with anyone reacting to something they read but, if they want to share their reaction with other readers, it is incumbent on them to set out a cogent response; otherwise sit with their reaction privately.
